Meet Tim

Tim Nerenz with Gov. DoyleTim Nerenz is not a career politician, and he is not your typical Ph.D.   He is a business executive with nearly 35 years experience with three of Wisconsin’s premier manufacturing companies.

Tim is proud that his first job after leaving college early was a minimum wage job;  his story is not unlike millions of Americans who start out working two jobs to make ends meet, going back to school, supporting a family, and risking a move occasionally to take advantage of career opportunities.

He is currently Executive Vice President of Oldenburg Group Incorporated, a Milwaukee-based global manufacturer of engineered products used in Architectural Lighting, Defense, Mining, and Nuclear industries.   In his work,  Tim deals with members of Congress and their staffs on matters of constituent and national security interest.

media interviewTim did his undergraduate work at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and holds three graduate degrees in business - AGDM and MBA from Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada and a Ph.D. from Northcentral University in Prescott Arizona.  He has published journal articles, case studies, and his dissertation on federal government procurement practices.

Dr. Nerenz has served as an advisor to the board of directors of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and serves on  Governing Council at Athabasca University.  Through his civic, academic, and business activities,  Tim travels extensively in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

speaking at commencement Tim and his wife of 25 years, Joanne, live in the bluffs north of Merrimac, and have a cottage on a lake north of Mercer.  They do all the Wisconsin stuff you do - from Badger football to   Friday night fish fry at the  Friendly Tavern in Portage.

Dr. Nerenz is a proud member of the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin,  the Campaign For Liberty, and the National Rifle Association.
